Hi Gloria, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Dr. Gloria Wright, and I am a seasoned Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, accomplished speaker, dedicated advocate, philanthropist, mentor, consultant, and educator. Above all, I take pride in being a mother to two wonderful young men.
Having immigrated to the United States from Nigeria in 2004 as a first-generation migrant, my journey began in the field of cosmetology. However, the economic downturn in 2008 prompted a significant reevaluation of my career trajectory. I embarked on a nursing program and subsequently obtained my Master’s and Doctorate degrees, specializing in mental health as a Nurse Practitioner.
As a serial entrepreneur, I am privileged to have founded and developed several organizations aimed at positively impacting lives and fostering growth within the community.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
In my view, life is not about achieving balance, but rather about the art of juggling with grace, fueled by a mindset geared towards resilience and acceptance of whatever comes our way. By God’s grace, my personal goal is to continue navigating this delicate act successfully.
My journey from Western Africa, Nigeria, was far from easy. Yet, with God’s strength and guidance, I have managed to navigate the formidable challenges of assimilating into the culture here in the United States, making each obstacle more bearable.
The path to achieving my current academic and career status has been steep and filled with mountains that needed to be climbed. Nevertheless, my focus has been on the daily challenges of managing multiple entities and coordinating diverse teams, all while gracefully embracing my role as a mother. It is through this journey of survival, intertwined with faith and perseverance, that I continue to strive and thrive.
