Today we’d like to introduce you to Alec Dyer.
Hi Alec, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in San Antonio, Texas. I grew up as a kid making stories and film ideas. Ever since I was a kid I knew that I wanted to make movies. The desire to make films only grew throughout the years and eventually I would learn how to edit and shoot in my high school video tech class. After high school I would get several jobs over the years at various marketing companies in town. Evntually, I went freelance, continuing to edit and shoot videos while also extending my skillset to being a production assistant on commercials and local productions, and bigger productions as well including Lioness and Lawman: Bass Reeves. Since high school. I had also directed two short films. the most recent of the two currently making its round on the film festival scene.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been some struggles along the way, a majority being financial issues in between jobs and productions, but I have had a strong support system from my family along the way
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am known for my short films and directing, but also appearing as an actor ,extra and stand in on various televisoin productions. Including but not limited to “1923”, “Brothers”, and “Walker”.
How do you define success?
Success is a state of mind. You are truly successful if you get to do what you love. If I can do what I love doing for the rest of my life I would consider that a win
