Conversations with Bailey Coombes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bailey Coombes.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi! I’m Bailey, or as my grandparents used to call me, Miss B, a nickname that would eventually become the heart behind Miss B Artistry.

Creativity has always been part of my story. From the moment I picked up my first camera at seven years old, art became the way I made sense of the world. Over time, that curiosity expanded into photography, painting, and design.

I went on to earn a degree in Marketing with a minor in New Media Art from Texas A&M University, where I learned how creativity and strategy can work together. It was here I fell in love with graphic design while still exploring my first love of photography, drawn to the storytelling power of these art forms when paired with the structure and logic of marketing. It was through exploring this new approach to art that I realized that my passion wasn’t just creating for the sake of creating. It was using art to tell stories that matter and creating work that holds meaning, emotion, and memory all in one place.

Miss B Artistry was born from that realization. Building my own business gave me the freedom to step fully into what I was created to do. Today, I get to live out that purpose as a full-time artist in the Texas Hill Country, partnering with individuals, nonprofits, and small businesses to bring their stories to life through thoughtful, intentional design and imagery uniquely crafted for each client.

I believe art has the power to connect, to communicate, and to leave something lasting behind. This work isn’t just my profession, it’s my calling.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Has it been a smooth road? No. Choosing to pursue your passion often requires a leap, but that leap was shaped by years of growth and learning along the way. I spent time developing my skills, wearing many different hats, and gaining clarity through various roles before stepping fully into Miss B Artistry. Like many creatives, I also had to learn how to move forward despite self-doubt, trusting my voice and my work even when confidence didn’t come easily. Eventually, I chose waking up each day doing work I love over the comfort of a steady paycheck in a role that no longer aligned with who I was becoming. That decision required patience, trust, and time, but it also led to purpose, growth, and the freedom to build a life rooted in creativity.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At the heart of my work is visual storytelling. Through Miss B Artistry, I create thoughtful, strategic design and photography that captures emotion, meaning, and identity in a lasting way. My work spans everything from brand identities, print materials, and marketing collateral to digital design, social media content, and websites, allowing me to support clients across every touchpoint of their brand.

What I’m most proud of is my ability to blend creativity with strategy. With a background in marketing, I design with purpose, ensuring each piece not only looks beautiful but also communicates clearly and works effectively. Whether I’m designing a printed piece, building a digital presence, or capturing a moment through photography, my focus is always on telling the story in a way that feels cohesive and intentional.

What sets my work apart is the care behind the process. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all design. I take the time to listen, understand, and create work that reflects the individuality of each client. My process is collaborative and detail-driven, grounded in the belief that art should preserve moments, evoke emotion, and leave something lasting behind.

Any big plans?
Looking ahead, my goal is to continue growing Miss B Artistry in a way that feels intentional and aligned, while expanding the ways I tell stories through new creative offerings. I’m especially excited to grow my photography and storytelling work through Lumen Sky Productions, a partnership with a videographer and former real estate agent that allows us to bring elevated, story-driven media into the real estate market.

I look forward to deepening relationships with clients whose stories matter deeply to them, while also stepping into larger-scale projects that blend strategy, emotion, and visual impact. Rather than chasing constant change, I’m focused on steady growth, refinement, and building something sustainable that allows creativity to thrive long-term.

Ultimately, my hope is to continue creating work I’m proud of, collaborating with people I believe in, and allowing both Miss B Artistry and Lumen Sky to evolve naturally as my craft and calling grow.
