Today we’d like to introduce you to Joana Esteves.
Hi Joana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Ever since I was a little girl, I was fascinated with the human mind and human behavior. I always felt very close to nature, and to art expression, and always loved to help people in one way or another. People always tended to use my shoulder to vent, for soothing and advice, and that always felt very natural to me and something I always enjoyed doing. Eventually, my life has gone through the Healthcare world as a dental assistant, then later as a medical assistant, and also many experiences in the arts world, co-owning an Arts Gallery and center in Houston, helping artists ramp up their arts careers and showcase their works.
At the time I found Marisa Peer’s RTT (Rapid Transformational Therapy) training, I had been working for a huge Healthcare corporation from home, I managed huge amounts of calls per day to prepare authorization cases for Medical Directors, UM Nurses, and Case Managers. I realized at some point I was just another number for this company and I wasn’t really making a direct impact in people’s lives. You know that gut feeling that you have sometimes? I knew I was meant for more, that that wasn’t it.
Being a mom of a two year old girl at the time and struggling in a toxic relationship, I knew I had to change the direction of my life. I decided later on that I would leave my relationship if things didn’t change and was willing to move in the direction of ME changing, by leaving. I decided to take steps and making decisions for me and my daughter and to achieve my goals, whether alone or with my then partner. Until eventually I had to leave. And it was really scary to let go of everything I knew then, had put so much love and dedication into, but I didn’t feel safe emotionally or cared for and that was taking a toll in my well-being. So I left.
When I saw Marisa Peer’s ad, I knew that was what I was looking for. Freedom to work from anywhere in the world, spend time in my home country, to travel which is something I love; and all this while helping people every day doing something that REALLY makes an impact and transforms people’s lives. I had had enough of working in an industry where people were not being healed from their conditions but simply patched up with pills. With my RTT training, and my background and experience in the health industry, I founded Holistic Transformation Center of which I am extremely proud of.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest roadblock I had to surpass besides letting go of toxic relationships was the one of self-doubt and fear of the unknown. I help people navigate that now but I’ve been there too. It took a lot of courage to build a life on my own with my daughter but it was totally worth it. I have now a beautiful partner and my life is full of blessings because I myself made the decision to change, where no one else could.
What I found out is that if you let go of what isn’t working, you immediately give space for what is aligned with your purpose and with your focus to emerge. If it’s something you’re passionate about, trust the process. Your self-talk can be one of the most powerful tools if you know how to use it.
As you know, we’re big fans of Holistic Transformation Center. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I help High-achievers unlock their full potential by removing the mental blocks that keep them stuck, unproductive, or unfocused. My Holistic Success Rewiring Program, is a unique program that is taylored to each individual’s needs and nervous system processes. I work with many issues but I specialize in self-sabotaging behaviors and depression.
The main component of my Holistic Success Rewiring Program is Marisa Peer’s Rapid Transformational Therapy. Through hypnosis, I give space to individuals to really get to the root cause of their issues.
This personalized approach works with clients to help them reframe any negative beliefs, values, habits, and emotions – many of which they have carried with them since childhood. Those beliefs and habits of thought are buried in their subconscious in such a way that people are often unaware of the past issues still affecting them.
My work is to unveil them, reframe those beliefs, and then install the new beliefs that will make them thrive in any area.
This gives the client the potential to alter the way they think and in turn put an end to negative self-talk and behaviors, approaching life in a positive way, resolving their issues for once, and moving forward towards wellbeing.
Holistic Transformational Center also hosts holistic retreats in Algarve Portugal for small groups, where I have the pleasure to partner with other holistic complementary modalities and masters in Reiki and yoga to create an unforgettable life-changing experience in a beautiful setup close to Nature.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I believe that you should first be clear on what your goals are before finding a mentor. After you have that clear, you can then find someone that has the knowledge to get you where you want to be, and is able to accompany you through your journey.
We all have book authors, inspirational speakers, podcast hosts and other mentors we follow online in the content we consume. But once we actually take the step to really do the actions needed to reach those goals, you have to have a mentor that can actually devote time to you, follow your steps along the way while giving you feedback, and especially, someone that makes you accountable upon your goals.
When it comes to ongoing issues that undermine our emotional, mental and or physical health, seeking a mentor to address those issues is one of the most empowering decisions a person can make. Many people try to cope alone, feeling they should handle their burdens on their own, but reaching out isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s a choice for self-care and strength.
Persistent stress and anxiety for instance, can sap joy, make it harder to connect with others, and diminish both mental and physical well-being. Over time, these struggles can cloud decision-making, affect sleep, weaken the immune system, and even influence heart health.
Asking for help creates a support network—one that allows for fresh perspectives, new coping strategies, and guidance in moments when things feel overwhelming.
A skilled professional can help reveal patterns of thought or behavior that might be keeping stress and anxiety alive, unlocking new ways to manage emotions and find calm. And through this process, an individual gains tools that don’t just help for today but can transform their approach to life’s inevitable challenges.
