Today we’d like to introduce you to Noelia Gutierrez.
Noelia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey into holistic health started in a very personal way. I originally studied Art History and Interior Design, and for many years I worked in the creative world across Spain, Mexico and eventually Texas. When I moved to San Antonio, my health collapsed — especially my digestion — and I found myself searching for answers that conventional approaches weren’t giving me.
That experience became the turning point. To heal myself, I began studying fermentation, gut microbiota, holistic nutrition, ancestral habits, detoxification and integrative lifestyle practices. What started as a personal quest slowly became a calling. As I applied these tools to my own life, my health transformed, and women around me began asking for help.
That’s how Happiness Greens was born — very organically. Today I work as a holistic health coach specializing in gut health, women’s hormonal balance, microbiota, and natural lifestyle habits. I guide women to reconnect with their vitality through nutrition, daily rituals, and simple practices rooted in nature and science.
It’s been a long journey of study, practice and personal transformation, but everything I teach today comes from what I’ve lived, tested and integrated in my own body. And that’s what makes my work feel so meaningful — I help women heal in the same way I healed myself.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all — it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. In fact, the challenges are what shaped the work I do today.
When my digestive health collapsed years ago, I spent a long time feeling lost and frustrated. I went through chronic inflammation, anxiety, exhaustion, and a deep sense of disconnection from my own body. I tried many approaches that didn’t work, and it took time, study, and a lot of self-experimentation to understand what my body truly needed.
Another challenge came when I shifted careers. Leaving a stable path in the design world to build a holistic health brand from zero was intimidating. I had to learn new disciplines — nutrition science, microbiota, functional health — while also learning how to run a business, create programs, and share my message with confidence.
And of course, there were emotional challenges too. Working in wellness requires constant growth, self-reflection, and the courage to show up authentically, even when you’re still figuring things out yourself.
But every struggle became part of my purpose. The frustration with my own symptoms made me specialize deeply in gut health. The career transition taught me resilience and creativity. And the emotional work helped me connect with clients in a real, meaningful way.
So no, the road wasn’t smooth — but those challenges are the reason I can guide other women with empathy, clarity and lived experience.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Here’s a polished, elevated and professional answer — clear, confident, science-rooted and aligned with your holistic voice:
Absolutely. My work centers on helping women restore their gut health, balance their hormones, and reconnect with their bodies through holistic nutrition and evidence-informed lifestyle practices. I specialize in the microbiota, fermentation, detoxification, and women’s health — especially for those navigating stress, inflammation, perimenopause, and chronic digestive issues.
I’m best known for translating complex science into simple, practical habits that women can apply in their daily lives. Many of my clients come to me after trying multiple diets, supplements or medical approaches without real improvement. What I offer is different: I guide them step by step through a structured method — cleanse, restore, and balance — combining functional nutrition, ancestral habits, nervous-system regulation, and the therapeutic power of natural foods, particularly fermented foods.
I also create programs, workshops and community spaces where women feel supported, seen, and guided with empathy. My work isn’t just nutritional; it’s integrative, emotional and deeply human.
What I’m most proud of is how personal this work is. Everything I teach comes from years of study, but also from what I had to learn to heal myself. That lived experience allows me to guide women with a level of understanding and authenticity that goes beyond theory.
What sets me apart is that I’m not a doctor — and that’s actually part of my strength. I approach health from a whole-person perspective, grounded in science but also in daily lifestyle, emotional wellbeing, and the ancestral wisdom that modern life often forgets. My clients appreciate that I work in a way that’s natural, accessible, warm, and deeply transformative
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Here’s a polished, thoughtful, professional answer — intelligent, concise and aligned with your journey:
Yes — my biggest advice is to approach mentorship and networking with intention and authenticity, not quantity.
For me, what has worked best is learning to follow the people whose values, integrity and lifestyle truly resonate with the kind of professional and human being I want to become. Quality over volume. Instead of trying to connect with everyone, I’ve focused on building a few meaningful relationships with people who inspire me, challenge me, and model the type of excellence I admire.
I’ve also learned that mentorship doesn’t always come from one official “mentor.” Sometimes it comes through courses, communities, collaborations, or people you quietly observe and learn from. Many of my most valuable “mentors” have been individuals whose work I studied deeply before ever speaking with them.
Networking, for me, has worked best when I show up as myself — sharing my story, my expertise, and my passion for health openly. When you speak from real experience, you attract the right connections naturally. I’ve met wonderful collaborators simply by being consistent in my message and generous with what I know.
And finally, I think it’s important to invest in yourself. Some of the biggest leaps in my career came after saying yes to learning opportunities, programs or mentors that stretched me and expanded my vision.
So my advice is simple: follow alignment, invest in your growth, show up with authenticity, and build relationships that feel human, not transactional. The right people will find you when your message is clear and your mission is solid.
