Meet Jana Palosi Margaux Huckabay of Hat Bar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jana Palosi Margaux Huckabay.

Hi Jana Palosi, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hat Bar started back in 2023. We had always talked about starting a business together and we knew we wanted to do something that allowed us to be creative. The idea of making something fun and personal quickly turned into a passion project. We love helping clients create one of a kind pieces that reflect their style and story. From picking out trims, pins, and bands, every detail is completely personal and thats what makes it so special. We always aim to make sure experience feels welcoming and inspiring for everyone that walks in.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting a small business always comes with challenges. Balancing creativity and raising kids can be tricky, but every challenge taught us something new and made us better. Initially we started Hat Bar as a pop-up business where we would set up shop at local events and festivals. That quickly morphed into doing private events in homes as well as large scale events for many businesses in the San Antonio and surrounding area.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We can carry brands such as Gigi Pip, Lack of Color and American Hat Makers. We love having groups come in for a hat party. It’s a great place to gather with friends, have a glass of champagne and get creative making a hat.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
The people of San Antonio along with our friends and family have been so supportive. Their love for local style has brought our vision into life. Their excitement and support keep us inspired every day. We truly have the best customers!
