Today we’d like to introduce you to Edmundo Sanchez.
Hi Edmundo, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started Piano Mundo with a deep, unwavering love for music and its power to transform lives. For me, teaching piano isn’t just a profession—it’s a calling and a privilege to share the joy, discipline, and creativity that music brings to our world.
Piano Mundo was founded with a simple but powerful mission: to make music accessible, inspiring, and meaningful for everyone who walks through our doors. From the very beginning, we’ve dedicated ourselves to nurturing not just skilled pianists, but confident, creative, and passionate individuals.
Along the way, we’ve met incredible students and families who share our belief that music can brighten lives, build character, and create lasting memories. Every lesson, every recital, and every note played is a step towards building a vibrant, supportive community where everyone feels seen and celebrated.
I’m honored to witness the growth and achievements of our Piano Mundo family. Whether it’s a first performance, a new song mastered, or simply the joy of playing for fun, these moments are what drive us forward.
Our commitment to music education is unwavering. We believe that with the right support, encouragement, and environment, anyone can experience the magic of music.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Running Piano Mundo hasn’t always been a smooth road—there have definitely been some bumps along the way. As a solo operator, I handle everything myself, from teaching to scheduling, admin, and even marketing. It can be overwhelming at times, and I know my ability to grow is limited since I don’t have additional staff.
One of my ongoing challenges is student retention. The main reason students leave is usually a lack of motivation or inconsistent practice, especially with beginners. Keeping everyone engaged and progressing takes a lot of creativity and patience.
I also don’t have a formal marketing strategy. All my new students come from Facebook and referrals—no paid advertising or email marketing. While this has worked so far, it means I have to stay active online and really rely on word-of-mouth.
On top of that, I haven’t set specific business goals or expansion plans, which sometimes makes it tough to know what my next steps should be. Managing payments, rescheduling, and communication without any admin support means I’m always juggling a lot.
Despite these struggles, I love what I do. My personalized approach and strong community reputation have helped me keep Piano Mundo thriving. The journey has been about adapting, learning, and staying passionate about teaching music—even when things get challenging!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Piano Mundo Co?
I’d love to share more about Piano Mundo!
I run Piano Mundo as a one-person operation in Schertz, TX, specializing in private, one-on-one piano lessons for students aged 7 and up. With over 25 years of teaching experience and a master’s degree in fine arts, I focus on creating a personalized, supportive learning environment. Every lesson is tailored to the student’s skill level and goals, whether they’re just starting out or looking to advance their technique in classical or jazz piano.
What sets Piano Mundo apart is the individualized attention I give each student. Unlike many studios that offer group classes, I believe real progress happens through private instruction and a curriculum that adapts to each person’s needs. My reputation in the community is something I’m incredibly proud of—families often tell me I’m the best piano teacher in the area, and most of my students come through word-of-mouth and referrals.
Brand-wise, I want Piano Mundo to be known for making music fun, accessible, and inspiring. My motto is “Bringing Music to Life,” and I try to reflect that in everything I do, from the elegant yet lively branding (think gold, black, and white with a classic grand piano theme) to the way I encourage open communication and celebrate each student’s achievements.
I also provide free study materials through an online library and offer a free trial lesson to new students. My policies are flexible and student-friendly, with easy rescheduling and support for busy families.
Ultimately, Piano Mundo is about more than just piano lessons—it’s about building confidence, nurturing creativity, and helping students discover a lifelong love for music. That’s what I want every family to know when they think about my studio!
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My mother would always ask me to play piano every night to help her relax.
