Hi Seth, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
River North Icehouse is owned and operated by TKW Hospitality Group and opened its doors in July 2024. Owners Eric Thomas, Trip Watson, and Seth Klein came up with the concept for the icehouse after being approached by Area Real Estate who were looking to bring in bar operators for an old upholstery warehouse they purchased in the up and coming River North District of San Antonio. In just under a year the 10,000 square foot converted warehouse was transformed in to a multipurpose bar and event space. The space has a front and back patio, 22 screens, two large LED video walls, and a indoor stage for live music and djs. The icehouse has become one of the premier locations in downtown San Antonio to watch sporting events and come together for a good time!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to opening River North Icehouse has been pretty smooth! The team from Area Real Estate helped make the process of converting the space into a bar pretty easy. Everyone in the River North District has been super welcoming of us and we are so happy to be a part of one of the best districts in the city!

At River North Icehouse we specialize in bringing good vibes to the city of San Antonio. We have a great bar, but our staff is what ultimately sets us apart from all the other bars in the area. We truly have the best team, and they keep our customers coming back to enjoy live music and watch sports!
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson we have learned so far opening River North Icehouse has been to remain patient. We are not just trying to have a great bar. We are also trying to help build a new district which takes time and a lot of patience.
