Meet Priscilla Ann Gonzalez of Northeast

Today we’d like to introduce you to Priscilla Ann Gonzalez.

Hi Priscilla Ann, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Rooted CCS journey began with a mission inspired by Faith; Family; and empowerment for self-discovery and growth. Our CEO, Priscilla Gonzalez LPC-S had a vision to help others not only to provide mental health counseling, but for life long standing life roots and foundation for others. Joined by her husband, Miguel Hernandez, COO, they have combined over 30 years of experience in Mental Health Counseling; At Risk support services; Program/Project Management; Government Contracting and Consulting; and Administrative Leadership.

Mental Health services and at-risk populations have always been underserved and resources have been scarce for others to secure individual and family support, not to mention for multicultural families as well. We built this company to assist others to feel “rooted” in their own lives and to help gain that kind of perspective.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey for Rooted CCS has persevered throughout it’s time. It has had its fair share of obstacles that has tested it’s very existence. While the foundation and roots began as a vision by Priscilla and Miguel starting in the Rio Grande Valley and Laredo, Texas, it has since shaped and blossomed into a full family project. Our wonderful children, Emma and Michael have been at the heart of what this business is and to keep the focus on where we see the need to serve others. As parents, we serve other parents with a heart of integrity and to service other people’s children as we would expect our children to be served. This is not limited to what all services are offered, however child and family therapy has been our specialty for over 15 years +. We are now in our newest chapter in our lives in Cibolo, Texas and through our guided faith and countless nights of prayer, we felt the calling to create Rooted CCS.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
What sets us apart is our specialty, patience and knowledge of how to navigate the niche of child therapy. Not only do we provide therapy to children as young as 3 years old to 60+, we both have been specialized and certified in a national training called Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This form of trauma counseling has been used for children who have experienced sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, neglect, victims of trafficking, children in the foster system, children who have migrated from other countries, and more!
