Inspiring Conversations with Jon Williams of Diagnosing Hope: Therapy and Consulting, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jon Williams.

Hi Jon , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Jon. I am the owner and one of the providers with Diagnosing Hope. I am a masters level licensed counselor.

Regarding my practice, Diagnosing Hope was started as a passion project by myself, Jon Williams. I created this initially as a solo virtual practice after I became licensed in 2020.

In 2025, I formally transitioned the practice into a limited liability company, establishing the practice and brand in its current form: Diagnosing Hope: Therapy and Consulting, LLC.

I have a background that is diverse in the helping field. It started with spiritual helping in the form of full time ministry with local churches.

When transitioning to the secular field, I became immersed in the work of victim advocacy. I have served as an advocate for domestic violence and sexual assault victims. I provided on scene crisis response with law enforcement in the immediate aftermath of victimizations. I have also provided on scene crisis counseling for incidents of suicide, homicide, robbery, traffic fatalities, and child deaths; amongst other instances involving a victim, family member or witness of a traumatic event.

I was the first person to run the State Sexual Offense Response Program with the Texas Military Department after the Texas state legislature established the program with the passing of bill 87(R) SB 623, also known as “The Vanessa Guillen Act.”

In addition to all of the crisis and trauma experience, I am also well adept at the traditional counseling setting. I am an experienced clinician in counseling individuals, couples and families for a variety of presenting problems.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road. I would not describe my life in those terms. Personally and professionally, I have had to overcome a lot of hardships and set backs to get where I am today. But I consider myself blessed and having come from humble beginnings.

As you know, we’re big fans of Diagnosing Hope: Therapy and Consulting, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Currently, Diagnosing Hope offers virtual services. For therapy, this would include individual, couples and family counseling for teens and adults.

Additionally, the practice offers on demand courses for helping professionals looking to further their skills in Solution Focused Therapy, Christian Counseling or Victim Services.

Psychotherapy Precepting is available for Nurse Practitioner Students interested in completing their clinical hours with a tele-health therapist.

The practice also offers psychological immigration evaluations. These are mental health assessments to aid legal/waiver cases for immigration hardship, U-Visa, T-Visa, VAWA and more.

Below is a snippet of insight into my personal approach to therapy:
What do you hope would be better about yourself, about your life, about your marriage, about your family? This is my chief focus as a therapist. I get to the heart of what you really want and hope for in the first session, beginning with the end in mind. I believe hope is an essential mechanism for change in human beings. Hope drives us to accomplish the greatest feats in our lives.

I specialize in Solution Focused Therapy, a very positive and “straight to the point” approach when it comes to you getting what you want out of the therapeutic process. I believe every client is a Superman hiding in a Clark Kent outfit. In therapy, we work together to help you bring out the version of yourself you have always wanted to be.

How do you define success?
Success is finding something you love to do, that helps others, allows you to thrive individually and support your family.
