Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Gradeless.
Hi Nicole, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My social media journey started when I was the first of my friends group to have kids. I would often get asked for product recommendations. I noticed that people were putting their reviews on YouTube. So, I figured I would film mine and create a channel and start sharing. As my kids grew up my product reviews evolved too and my social following expanded. I started an IG account and then in 2020 created my tiktok page. While everyone was dancing over on tiktok, I decided to put my product reviews there and they gained traction quickly. I gained over 500k followers in a couple years and counting .
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Nothing worth it ever goes totally smoothly ! I had a viral post that turned negative and the backlash was insane. I had people calling me names and it was truly so tough. The support from my family really helped! I also struggled with the comparison game, wondering how people with similar accounts seem to have it all together and get opportunities I wish I had. Its important to focus on building and nurturing your community !
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a content creator, and digital marketing consultant. I create and share content across my social media platforms and monetize using affiliate marketing and sponsored campaigns. I also work with companies to teach them how to use social media to market their products. and assist with creating social media strategies.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Connecting with people in your field is such an important networking tool! I love attending local events and meeting people, and also reaching out to people through social media who have common interests.
