Today we’d like to introduce you to Crissy Martinez.
Crissy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It started as a fun hobby after picking up a cricut machine and supplies at my local craft store during the pandemic. I started to create fun crafts and share them on my social media account and little by little I had people interested in purchasing some of the creations I had made. I had taken the leap of faith and decided to start my own small business and never looked back. I didn’t think from crafting in my parents office corner, would I grow 5 years later into my own office space creating items for people all around. 3 years into this adventure I would start setting up at local pop up markets and instantly fell more in love with what I was doing. I booked an event I came across on my explore page on Instagram and it was for a pop up market in Houston, Texas. I had knew nothing about the Houston community of what I was in for at this event. Little did I know after attending that market I was nearly sold out of products. Ever since I try to book 1-2 events a month to travel to Houston, Tx. Few months forward I also got accepted to be in my first store front locally here in San Antonio. Now I have expanded and you’re able to find me in a few stores.

Fast forward down the years, I have done many pop up markets and now try to have one weekly on the weekends so my customers can shop in person with me. I enjoy popping up in person and connecting with my customers so much. The way I see them react to my items and can’t wait to go him with their new items from me bring me so much joy.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road but on day one I told myself to “never stop dreaming” and I’ve stood by that even when things didn’t go my way. From making little to no sales at local markets to not being able to find certain supplies I needed for orders. I stayed up countless late nights to create my items and to finish up orders I was receiving. Although, I knew God had good intentions for me when I decided to take this leap of faith. It has taken a lot to keep going and to believe in myself.

I’m the owner of Crissy Creations. I specialize in decorative glass cups and accessories that are girly and fun, along with trendy t-shirts. I am known for my items for being vibrant and girly. I wanted to create items that I would love to have in my own home and use on the daily basis along with a touch of my culture. Everything is tested before being offered to the public. This reflects in what I sell and only offer the best quality to my customers. I’m proud for how far along my products have came since the beginning and being able to have something for everyone to enjoy.
What does success mean to you?
Success is pursuing what you want in life. Whatever comes along the way, just being able to continue and strive for the best is what matters. Planning out goals and accomplishing them or even to exceed them.
