Daily Inspiration: Meet Yvonne Wyne

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yvonne Wyne.

Hi Yvonne, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m a stay-at-home mom, and I picked up reading as a way to unwind and have something that was just mine. One day, while doom scrolling on TikTok, I discovered BookTok and realized there was an entire community of readers out there. I told my husband about it, and he goes, “You read all the time—why don’t you post videos?” So I did… and that was it. I was hooked.

I’ve made some of the best friends through that app—people I genuinely text every single day. They’ve become family. That’s also where I discovered indie authors, and I realized I have a true passion for finding books that no one’s talking about. I love helping indie authors get their books out there and into the hands of new readers.

Later, I decided to join Bookstagram as well, and just like TikTok, I found another amazing community. I had no idea indie publishers even existed before this, and it’s been such a fun experience getting to work with some of them.

I honestly can’t thank my husband enough for supporting me from day one. He’s the reason I took that first step, and this whole journey has been so rewarding.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a perfectly smooth road. At first, I had no idea what I was doing—editing videos, figuring out what kind of content I wanted to post, dealing with the weird algorithm swings… it was all a learning curve. And as much as I love creating, it’s hard not to compare yourself to others or feel like you’re not doing enough when videos don’t get the views you hoped for.

There were also moments where I felt a little overwhelmed balancing mom life and content creation. I’d have ideas but no time to film, or I’d film and then my toddler would need me mid-edit. But I kept reminding myself why I started—because I love reading and wanted to connect with others who feel the same.

What helped most was the support from the bookish community and my husband. Even during moments of doubt, they’ve kept me grounded and encouraged me to keep going.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I create book content on TikTok and Instagram. I read all genres, but I especially love thrillers and horror. I’m passionate about helping readers discover hidden gems and love supporting indie authors.

I’m known for being honest, relatable, and keeping it real. I treat my community like close friends, and I’m proud of the genuine connections I’ve made. What sets me apart is that I do this out of love for books and storytelling—not for trends or clout.

What does success mean to you?
For me, success isn’t about numbers or going viral—it’s about impact and connection. If I can help someone find a new favorite book, make an indie author feel seen, or brighten someone’s day with a video, that’s success. It’s also about staying true to myself and doing what I love, without losing the joy that got me started in the first place.
