Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Munoz.
Hi Natalie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hey, it’s Natalie, your permanent jewelry artist! Here is a little story about me and how I started my business.
Originally from Colorado, I moved to San Antonio in 2021. I have worked in the dental field since moving here. My father, Orlando, has owned and operated his construction business for over 30 years. Because of his strong influence in being a hard worker, I always knew I wanted to work for myself too. Once I was more established in San Antonio, the wheels started to turn with how I could finally start my own business. Throwing around ideas in my head, bouncing them off of friends and family, nothing felt right.
After some time, the art of permanent jewelry peaked my interest because of the uniqueness and sustainability it offers. My friend was a permanent jewelry artist, and told me all about how she got into it, and how I could do the same! When I expressed to her that I was scared out of my mind to do it, her exact words were “Do it scared!”. Those three words were monumental in starting my business. I am forever grateful for her confidence in me. Being a small business owner had always been a goal of mine, and 2023 was the year Natalie Rae’s, LLC was formed. I have grown my business by utilizing instagram ads, reaching out to local businesses to do pop-ups, and being selective with the markets and pop-ups I choose. It is important to put yourself out there, but make sure it is the right atmosphere for your business. Never be afraid to send that DM, because the worst anyone can say is “no”. This has helped me make connections that I thought were out of my reach.
My cousin Aliyah, who is also a business owner, told me, “There are many permanent jewelry artists, but people are going to want to come to you for YOU”. That powerful statement has proven true. I have had multiple repeat customers, and have earned their loyalty. I have enjoyed growing my business, but as of right now, permanent jewelry is my side hustle. The goal is to do this full time, but I’m not quite there yet.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road that brought me here hasn’t always been smooth.
I’ve navigated through countless markets and pop-up events just to figure out where I truly belong. Some days were tough—being at a market with barely any foot traffic or setting up for a pop-up where no one showed. Those moments can feel defeating.
But through every “dud,” I’ve built confidence, resilience, and a deeper appreciation for this journey. I’m incredibly grateful for every single opportunity I’ve been given. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the amazing small business owners who welcomed me into their spaces and believed in what I’m building.
I wouldn’t be where I am today without all of the amazing small business owners allowing me to pop-up at their places.
We’ve been impressed with Natalie Rae’s Permanent Jewelry, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I truly love what I do.
I offer a carefully curated selection of high-quality, timeless jewelry—from sterling silver to 14K gold-filled pieces—each chain designed to reflect personal style and self-expression. I also offer gold-plated stainless steel as a more budget-friendly option, along with a variety of gold-filled and sterling silver charms to add that extra touch of meaning.
When you visit my booth, your time and satisfaction are my top priorities. Every market, every pop-up—I’m reminded why I do this. I get to meet incredible people from all walks of life, and I always have the best time creating permanent jewelry that captures a memory, a bond, or just a beautiful moment.
I’ve seen best friends, couples, parents and kids—even grandparents and grandkids—come together and commemorate their connection with a bracelet or anklet. It’s such a vibe! My booth is meant to be a fun, energetic escape from the everyday, even if just for a few minutes. And if you come to visit my booth, know that the playlist is always fire.
I feel so honored to be part of these moments. Nothing beats seeing the smile someone gets from their new piece of jewelry—because let’s be honest, being happy is the best thing to be.
Here’s to many more years of being your go-to permanent jewelry girl.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I absolutely love San Antonio and the beautiful culture that comes with it.
Exploring the city, finding new spots to eat, and soaking in all the local flavor is one of my favorite things to do. Birria tacos have a chokehold on me, so if there’s a new Mexican food spot in town—you can bet I’m there.
When I’m not working, I love being in the sun, lounging by the pool, and just enjoying the good weather. I could definitely do without the traffic (but let’s be real—who actually likes it?). And don’t even get me started on those winter freezes—Texas ice storms hit different! So I’m extra grateful for every sunshiny day.
