Meet Bethany Heyne of The Kairos Bridge, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bethany Heyne.

Hi Bethany, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Finding the Kairos Bridge: A Journey of Hope for Parents
Have you ever dreamed of becoming a parent? Picture it for a moment. Family dinners filled with laughter, cozy bedtime snuggles, and afternoons spent making memories. But what happens when that dream meets the raw reality of sleepless nights, endless tantrums, and moments when you feel completely lost? Whether you’re already a parent or hope to be one someday, the truth is that parenting is often more challenging than we expect. Especially when we’re unprepared for the emotional rollercoaster it brings. It’s like stepping onto a ride you didn’t fully sign up for, leaving many parents wondering, Am I doing this right? Why does it feel so hard? The constant pressure of raising children while balancing work, relationships, and personal struggles can leave even the most loving parents feeling overwhelmed. But what if there was a way to bridge the gap between the parent you dream of being and the daily struggles you face?
This is where The Kairos Bridge was born.

A Bridge to a New Beginning

I founded The Kairos Bridge because I know firsthand the challenges of parenting. But when I discovered the key to unlocking my relationship with my children, I wanted to share it with other parents so they too could have this peace and confidence in parenting. My journey began with my own struggle as a mother to an inconsolable infant, walking through sleepless nights, self-doubt, and the longing to be the best parent I could be. My eyes were opened in 2016 when I took my first parenting course and found a parenting coach who radically shifted my perspective. Our home, once filled with tantrums and tears, became a space of peace and understanding.

But it wasn’t an overnight transformation. I vividly remember one exhausting evening when my son was 5, and he had managed to push every limit imaginable. They say that children’s behavior is a sure way to uncover the unhealed areas in our lives where we need to grow the most, and he did just that. As my frustration boiled over, in a moment of desperation, I reacted in my anger. At the top of my lungs, I gave him a verbal run down of how poor his actions were, how disappointed I was, and how I expected to see change. Then I spanked him soundly, and swiftly sent him to bed. His tears that night echoed in my heart long after he had gone to bed. That moment of brokenness became the catalyst for change. I realized there had to be a way to discipline without damaging my child’s spirit—a way to guide, nurture, and teach while preserving connection.

As I studied child psychology and life-span development, I recognized that my own unresolved childhood challenges were surfacing in my parenting. Studies in child psychology show that unhealed emotional wounds often trigger automatic responses in parents, leading them to repeat patterns they experienced as children. Mirror neurons in the brain are responsible for reflecting emotional states between caregivers and children. This means that if a parent carries unresolved pain, their child subconsciously absorbs and reflects that pain. I knew that if I wanted to raise emotionally healthy children, I first needed to heal my own wounds. Then I wondered, “Do other parents realize the same? Do we realize that we can’t parent well without addressing our own issues?”

Unresolved trauma in parents doesn’t just affect them. It affects their children. Neuroscientific research shows that when parents operate from a place of unhealed pain, their children mirror that pain, often resulting in cycles of emotional dysregulation and behavioral challenges. Through her work at The Kairos Bridge, Bethany helps parents break these generational patterns by guiding them through inner healing work that fosters emotional resilience and spiritual growth. It’s grown from a focus on supporting parents and grandparents in their relationships with their children to now also include individuals who are simply seeking healing from their own childhood.

I have found the most effective way to do this is through something I call Kairos Moments where we can Notice, Name, and Nurture healthy growth when we recognize behavioral or emotional patterns. Kairos is a Greek word that means “the perfect moment when heaven meets us on earth.” It’s those powerful moments when something shifts—when you see your child not as a problem to fix but as a person to nurture. When discipline stops feeling like a battle and becomes an opportunity for growth. When your home transforms from a place of stress to a place of safety and love.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest obstacle I face is finding clients who are seeking a parenting coach or personal development coach. In a world full of distractions, investing time in personal and relational growth is difficult, yet essential.

At its core, my challenge is marketing—both in reaching the right people and conveying the value of this work. While I know this is a surmountable skill, it’s not one I naturally enjoy. I thrive in simplifying complex topics, connecting with people, and supporting spiritual and parental growth. Balancing my strengths with the necessary work of marketing is the challenge I’m currently working to overcome.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
While we were not yet founded at the time of COVID-19, the long lasting effects of the pandemic are readily seen and recognized to this day. Research shows that the pandemic accelerated the use of technology by decades, which is a plus. But research also shows that it stifled our relational connections, as in person meet ups became challenging and we quickly tired of the technology that shackled us. What technology does well is helps us reach and connect with more people in ways that weren’t possible before. We love that technology helps us reach more people, but we are also sensitive to sitting behind screens and short changing ourselves of the important personal interactions that bring relationship growth and personal development. Taking from these learnings, we have learned to balance the blessing of technology to help us connect with clients easier, while also maintaining appropriate focus on the need for deep personal connection as we support our clients in their every day lives.
