Hi Jose, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
One of Jose’s first jobs in aviation was working for Alamo Helicopter Tours. After several years, the owners wanted to sell. We happened to be in the right place at the right time.. Now we have Alamo Helicopter Tours, Alamo Flight Academy, and Austin Helicopter Tours where we not only do tours, but charters and helicopter flight training.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Small businesses struggle with all aspects of business in some point and time. COVID was really hard for us. We were forced to close by government order. This was a strain on our employees and us.

At Alamo Helicopters Tours, we don’t just do tours. If you have an idea where you think a helicopter could help you, we’ll try to make it happen. We specialize it tailoring flights to your needs. We’re family owned and run and welcome our customers to enjoy our atmosphere. We can do specialty flights like gender reveals, golf drops., and Easter egg drops. We can spread your loved ones ashes over an approved area. These are just some of the unique things that we do.. we also do a lot of photo flights for news and media outlets and surveys. We charter flights as well., mostly in Texas. We take land owner’s to their land. We often fly to wineries and the Salt Lick BBQ in Driftwood.
What makes you happy?
I love fllyinng. I’ve loved aviation my entire life. It’s wonderful being able to get to do the things that I love every single day.. My office view is amazing.

- Tours start at $75
- Charter flights are $1200 per hour for up to 3 people.
