Today we’d like to introduce you to Carolyn Wells
Hi Carolyn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Dance by Design Studios was Founded in 2014! Ms. Carolyn opened the studio in 2014 after learning she was going to have a little girl; she actually signed the lease when Elise was just 3 days old. She wanted a place where she knew her daughter would be surrounded by an amazing dance family using appropriate choreography, costumes, and music and challenging technique from the best teachers of New Braunfels and the surrounding areas. Dance by Design has grown from 30 students to over 500 students ages 4 months to adults. Ms. Carolyn believes that consistent training for her teachers, a syllabus for all levels and styles (written by herself and studio directors), and having a fun and focused atmosphere is of the upmost importance. Her goal is for every student to learn technique, coordination, discipline, but most importantly a LOVE for all things dance. We hope you can join us as we celebrate our 11th season!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
With any business there are always ups and downs, but luckily we have the most supportive community of families here in New Braunfels and at our studio that it make it all SO worth it!
We’ve been impressed with Dance by Design Studios, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The mission of DbD is to offer a wholesome environment with quality dance classes and training for every individual in every stage of life. This includes making sure your dancer is dressed appropriately from class to stage, music that any ears can hear, and dancing that any parent would be happy to watch.
We are headed into our 12th year of serving the Greater NB community and truly love what we get to do! From our youngest dancers to our adults-we are dedicated to spreading the love and joy that dance/movement brings. It’s not just about the moves and the technique. For us, we love watching dancers discover themselves and build confidence and a beautiful community along the way!

Dance by Design Studios is a proud member of the Dance Studios Owner’s Association Inner Circle. Our Owner/Director Ms. Carolyn has been in their mastermind group for the past 5 years and partakes in amazing trainings, mentorship from the industry’s top studio/dance professionals, and is dedicated to continued education for DbD’s growth and service!
