Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Nickell
Hi Linda, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m a Texas-based photographer and the curator of the Instagram account @TexasThroughHerLens, a platform I created to highlight the work of women photographers across the state. What started as a simple Instagram page has grown into a vibrant community that showcases the diverse perspectives of women capturing Texas’s landscapes, wildlife, nature, fine art, and everyday moments. I’m passionate about photography, and my commitment to uplifting fellow women photographers has helped me become a central figure in this growing network.
In addition to curating work for @TexasThroughHerLens, I also host The Happiness Hour, a photography webinar where I connect with both emerging and seasoned photographers. Through insightful conversations, tips, and inspiration, I strive to create a space where photographers can collaborate, learn, and empower one another.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Building a successful platform has been relatively smooth in terms of getting people on board; many are eager to share their work, and I’m fortunate to provide them with a space to do so. However, the real challenge lies in promoting the platform and reaching a wider audience. Despite the enthusiasm from contributors, getting the word out and expanding visibility has proven to be the most difficult aspect of the process.

I specialize in creating platforms that give people the opportunity to showcase their work and ideas, whether it’s through writing, photography, or other creative projects. I’m known for being able to foster a sense of community and collaboration, making it easy for individuals to share their passions and connect with others. What sets me apart is my focus on offering a space that’s not only a platform but a place where people feel supported and valued. I’m most proud of the connections and impact I’ve seen within the community, as well as the ability to help people amplify their voices. It’s incredibly rewarding to see others succeed and grow through the platform I’ve built.
