Exploring Life & Business with Crystal Holmes of Bio2 Laser Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Holmes

Hi Crystal, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
In 2013, I was working a corporate job where I learned so much about “Integrity Sales” and “Solution-based Selling”. The psychology behind sales was very interesting to me and I loved the idea of simply providing solutions to needs. I enjoyed my corporate job, but I knew that sales would be so much easier if I was selling what I was truly passionate about. An entrepreneur at heart, I wanted to branch out on my own, but at the time I wanted some security so I went with a franchise model. While purchasing a franchise can be a really smart step into a new world, I ultimately realized I wanted a business that I could design and re-imagine in a way that felt more honest and personal, so I got out of the franchise and created my own entity which is leading the industry today. I’m very proud of how far the business has come.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Running a business is never a smooth road. Someone once said that it is comparable to jumping off a cliff and building your plane on the way down. Some of my initial struggles were believing that everybody in business was honest. I still have the belief that there are mostly good people out there, but after almost 12 years in business, I definitely ask more questions before making decisions or working with new people. And I get every promise in writing.

We’ve been impressed with Bio2 Laser Studio , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We have a near perfect satisfaction rating. We use top-of-the-line technology from a company called Sinclair North America and we underpromise and overdeliver. Our service menu is small compared to many larger companies and we pride ourselves on making sure the treatments we offer are the ones that are proven to be the most effective consistently. One thing our clients appreciate most about us is our commitment to helping them achieve their goals. We become personally invested.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always interested in the beauty industry but did it all wrong. I had a tanning membership and dyed my hair colors that were terrible for my skin tone. I overplucked my eyebrows and used a bleaching cream to try to hide the hair on my upper lip. I learned very quickly that “pretty privilege” is a real thing which only fueled my desire to help others feel beautiful and confident. I struggled with the marketing concept that people are not beautiful just as they are but at the end of the day, if there is something you could change that could make you feel better about yourself, why not change it?
