Meet Marie Adams of San Antonio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marie Adams

Hi Marie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am a San Antonio native focused on sharing my experiences with flavors to the world. I’m a devoted mom of two beautiful kids and a bougie poodle named Gigi. I balance my love for adventure with family life. I’m a mortgage professional by day and a foodie at night. I see myself as a lifestyle influencer, food writer, and content creator, now rebranding Queenin and Brunchin into Flavors of Travel, a new TV show dedicated to exploring culture through food and travel. The pilot episode will debut Mother’s Day weekend. When not creating content, I enjoy reading, skating, and discovering new flavors. With a deep love for God, I’m passionate about uplifting communities and sharing stories that inspire connection and joy.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Limited Representation & Visibility – The Black community in San Antonio is rich in culture but often underrepresented in mainstream media and influencer spaces. Gaining recognition and opportunities in a market that lacks strong Black representation is a challenge.

Brand & Business Support – While San Antonio has a growing food and lifestyle scene, Black-owned businesses and creators may not always receive the same level of funding, sponsorships, or collaborations as non-Black counterparts. Convincing brands to invest in diverse voices can require extra effort.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Queenin and Brunchin started as a local food review blog, highlighting hidden gems in San Antonio. Over time, it evolved into something bigger—a platform that not only celebrated food but also explored the culture, history, and stories behind every meal.

This passion for storytelling and travel opened doors for many opportunities which led to a rebrand of the blog into Flavors of Travel, a space dedicated to uncovering diverse food experiences both locally and beyond.

Through this transformation, the mission remains the same: to amplify businesses, share immersive dining experiences, and inspire others to connect with food in a meaningful way.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I ran track for many years. During my freshmen of college at The University of the Incarnate Word our 4X100 relay was the first in school history to make it to nationals for sprints.
