Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharmaine Villarello
Hi Sharmaine, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always had a passion for helping others. Initially, I planned to pursue a career in nursing, but in 2021, I graduated with an Associate of Science degree and obtained my real estate license that August. My journey into real estate was unexpected—my now broker, Noah Ballard, once asked if I had ever considered it. At the time, I hadn’t, but when I learned that real estate was about guiding and helping people through one of the biggest decisions of their lives, I knew it was the right path for me.
My real estate career began during one of the most challenging times of my life. While pregnant with our third son, my fiancé and I faced a major hardship—we didn’t know if he would survive inside or outside the womb. He was born a medical and special needs warrior and spent 126 days in the NICU, undergoing multiple surgeries, including open-heart surgery at just three months old. Even during those difficult days, I managed to put my first buyer’s transaction under contract. That moment solidified my love for real estate because I realized how truly honorable and humbling it is to help families achieve the American Dream of homeownership.
From that point on, I was driven by a mission: to help as many people as possible become homeowners. Everyone is capable of owning a home, no matter their background. Some people come from nothing, fighting their way through struggles to achieve success. Others may have lost homes, but that doesn’t mean their dream is over. My own parents lost their home when my mother was injured off duty. We lost everything, but my parents never gave up. Eventually my mother achieved home ownership again, proving perseverance pays off. That lesson has always stayed with me, and I want my clients to know that with the right guidance and determination, they too can achieve their dreams.
In addition to helping clients buy and sell their homes, I also assist with rentals because I believe everyone deserves a place to call home, regardless of where they are in life. I never judge anyone’s circumstances because you never truly know what someone has been through. Life is unpredictable, and I want people to feel confident that they can turn to me for help, whether they are looking for a rental now or preparing for homeownership in the future.
One of my proudest moments as an agent was helping a 23-year-old purchase her first home—something she didn’t think was possible for years. She initially returned to me for a rental, but I encouraged her to explore buying. After one lender denied her, I found another who could make it happen. Seeing her achieve that milestone and begin building wealth for her future was an incredible honor.
I am deeply grateful to my four beautiful children, who inspire me every day to keep pushing forward, and to my fiancé, who stands by me through every high and low. To my parents and little brother, thank you for shaping me into the person I am today. And to my late father, who passed away from ALS shortly after I graduated high school—your strength and perseverance continue to guide me.
I also want to express my gratitude to my broker, Noah Ballard, who has been an incredible mentor and a constant source of support for me and my family. His belief in my success as an agent has meant the world to me.
At the end of the day, I’m just a mom chasing success in real estate, keeping her faith, and determined to help others build their futures. Just as I’m building mine for my children, mommy loves you, and everything I do is for you.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. When I first started in real estate, I struggled to get sales. I didn’t have a network because I had been a stay at home mom and had recently graduated from a small community college. It was challenging stepping into an industry where connections and experience matter so much.
Thankfully, my now broker saw potential in me and provided leads while also offering me the opportunity to become his Transaction Coordinator. That role was a major blessing — it forced me to learn every aspect of the real estate process, from ensuring contracts were correct to inputting listings in the MLS, hosting open houses, and much more.
At the same time, I was facing one of the hardest personal challenges of my life. My son was undergoing intensive medical intervention and surgeries while I balanced my career and cared for him and my other two boys. There were many moments when I felt overwhelmed, but I refused to give up. I wanted to show my children that perseverance pays off — that just because something doesn’t work out at first doesn’t mean it never will. Success takes time, effort, and dedication.
As I continued to grow, provide excellent service, and build relationships, word started to spread. Clients began referring me, and my hard work started paying off. In 2024, I was honored and humbled to receive the Top Producer Award for my brokerage — a testament to the fact that persistence always wins.
The journey hasn’t been easy, but every struggle has shaped me into the person and professional I am today. I remind myself daily to be the person that the little girl in me needed during her hardest moments. If I can inspire others to keep pushing forward despite the obstacles, then every challenge has been worth it.
We’ve been impressed with Sharmaine Villarello with True Valor Realty, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My name is Sharmaine Villarello. Originally from the Midwest, I moved to Texas when I was 18 years old. At 19, I met my fiancé, and together we’ve built a beautiful life with our four incredible children. We’re a proud first responder family, and as a medical and special needs parent, I’ve learned the power of advocacy — not just for my children, but also for my real estate clients.
I began my real estate journey in August 2021, and almost four years later, I continue to help individuals and families achieve their dreams — whether it’s buying their first home, selling a cherished property, finding the right rental, or managing their investments. It is truly an honor to be part of one of the biggest decisions of my clients’ lives. Homeownership is more than just a transaction; it’s a milestone, a foundation for stability, and a symbol of the American Dream.
I am deeply humbled by the trust my clients place in me. I believe in honesty, accountability, and always doing what is in their best interest. No matter the situation, I never judge because I understand what it’s like to struggle, to start over, and to rebuild. That’s why I make it a priority to assist with rentals as well — because having a place to call home, no matter the stage in life, is incredibly important.
My goal is to ensure that everyone who chooses me as their agent feels comfortable, confident, and empowered in their real estate decisions. I want my clients to experience the joy of coming home—to a place of peace after a long day, a place where they feel safe, proud, and surrounded by the life they’ve worked hard to create. Because at the end of the day, a home is more than four walls — it’s the heart of the American Dream, and I am honored to help make that dream a reality.
I take immense pride in my brand, not just because of what I do, but because of who I serve. As part of a first responder family, I have a deep understanding of the sacrifices and challenges faced by police officers, firefighters, military personnel, teachers, healthcare professionals, and individuals from all walks of life. I know what it’s like when a loved one comes home after a difficult call — one that will stay with them forever. I understand the emotional toll and the daily struggles that come with these demanding professions.
That’s why my mission is to help these heroes find a home where they can truly unwind—a place of peace and comfort after long shifts spent dealing with chaos. These individuals are the backbone of our communities, the ones who step in during our most vulnerable moments, whether it’s saving lives, protecting neighborhoods, educating future generations, or healing the sick. They deserve a home where they can recharge and create lasting memories with their families.
Beyond serving first responders, I take great pride in helping everyone find a place to call home. I always put my clients’ best interests first, ensuring they make informed decisions that build their future wealth. After all, real estate is one of the most valuable investments — there’s only so much land, and they’re not making any more of it. My goal is to help my clients secure their future through homeownership, one home at a time.
