Inspiring Conversations with Kristina Zachary of The Zachary Team

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristina Zachary

Hi Kristina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m a true Texan at heart, and growing up in San Antonio was an experience I’ll always cherish. From the rich culture to the amazing people and endless activities, I quickly fell in love with everything this vibrant city has to offer. Both of my parents were in the Air Force, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to plant deep roots here. San Antonio is such a melting pot of diverse communities, and over time, I developed a love for connecting with people from all backgrounds, learning about their unique stories, and embracing the colorful tapestry that makes this city so special.

Fast forward to my late 20s, where I found myself with three beautiful children and having just met Gabriel. It didn’t take long for me to realize he was someone truly special. Our relationship blossomed when we moved in together during the sudden onset of COVID. With nothing else to do, we had the perfect opportunity to truly get to know each other, and we grew even closer. When COVID restrictions started to lift, we received a call from his aunt that changed everything—she suggested we get into real estate. Gabriel, being the persistent and passionate person he is, spent about two weeks convincing me that this was the perfect path for us. And, of course, he was right.

Real estate has been one of the best decisions of my life. We went to school together, took our exams together, and have built this business side by side every step of the way. I wouldn’t have it any other way. The journey has taught me so much about myself, and we’re now approaching our fifth year in the industry, with our dreams and goals only growing stronger. I feel like one of the luckiest women in the world—blessed with an incredible partner, a beautiful family, and a career that continues to inspire me every day.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Of course, success doesn’t come without its fair share of bumps—both big and small—along the way. As I mentioned before, I’ve learned so much about myself through this journey, and even more about Gabriel. When we first started, I thought, “We have great communication, we have a strong foundation—starting a business together is going to be a breeze!” Well, let’s just say I was in for a bit of a wake-up call.

I quickly learned that living with your partner is one thing, but working with them? That’s a whole different ballgame. People can be totally different when they’re in work mode versus in a personal setting, and that definitely took some getting used to.

But through all the trials and tribulations, we’ve only grown closer and stronger. We’ve honed our communication skills and developed tools to make our business run more smoothly. As for myself, I’ve learned how to better manage the pressures that come with financial challenges and market downturns. But more than that, I’ve come to truly appreciate my own strengths—empathy, drive, grit, determination, and persistence.

The journey is always evolving, and things are always changing. But one thing I know for sure: my foundation, both personally and professionally, is as solid as it gets.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My husband and I are proud to be The Zachary Team—a dynamic duo in the world of real estate. Currently, we specialize in residential real estate, but this year marks an exciting chapter for us as we expand our team and bring on agents who share our vision. Looking ahead, we’re eager to venture into investments and developments, creating even more opportunities for growth and success.

What truly sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to never telling our clients “no.” Instead, we focus on finding creative solutions and making things work—without letting everything fall apart in the process. We take immense pride in our compassion, always striving to get to know our clients on a personal level and treating them with the utmost respect. Upholding our fiduciary responsibilities is a top priority for us, and we believe in supporting our clients every step of the way—even after the transaction is complete.

Education is another cornerstone of our business. We love providing value through social media, classes, and resources that help clients and fellow agents alike. Our commitment to community is just as strong, as we’re actively involved in local organizations and philanthropic work, giving back to the places that have given us so much.

What makes you happy?
When I think about what truly makes me happy, my first instinct is to ask, “What doesn’t?” I’m an early bird at heart, and I absolutely love the fresh start that comes with each new day. Growing up with a positive yet challenging childhood taught me the importance of nurturing happiness within myself. These days, I find joy in the small things—the little moments that bring a smile to my face, whether it’s a kind gesture or just enjoying a peaceful morning.

Happiness seems to find its way into nearly every interaction, from the moment I wake up to the moment I fall asleep. But the greatest source of happiness in my life? My husband. Not only is he my partner in everything, but he’s also my best friend. We’re together all the time, and when he’s around, I feel safe, warm, and, above all, happy.
