Hi Casey, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
The dream of Gruene Tea Haus was born during a trip to Colorado when we visited a delightful tea shop. As lifelong tea enthusiasts, we were inspired to create something special in our own community. Albert, who loves the cozy atmosphere of coffee shops, often found himself drinking poorly brewed green tea because coffee shops rarely cater to tea lovers. We envisioned a space where tea enthusiasts could truly feel at home—a welcoming tea shop that offers expertly brewed teas and a relaxing atmosphere for people to gather, unwind, and share their love of tea.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of our challenges has been spreading the word that we’re here and overcoming the misconception that tea is only for women or limited to formal tea parties. We’re working to show that tea is diverse, approachable, and perfect for anyone looking to enjoy a cozy, flavorful experience.

As lifelong learners with backgrounds in teaching, Albert and I are passionate about sharing knowledge through tea education classes and events that deepen our community’s appreciation for tea. We’re most proud of creating a space where people from all walks of life can feel at home, whether they’re enjoying a quiet moment with a book, meeting friends, or exploring the world of tea for the first time.
What sets us apart is our commitment to authenticity and education. We focus on high-quality teas with no added flavorings—allowing the tea’s natural character to shine—and we love helping customers find their perfect brew while learning something new along the way.
